Massachusetts recently passed comprehensive climate change legislation that codifies into law a commitment to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050 and furthers the Commonwealth's nation-leading efforts to combat climate change and protect vulnerable communities. The new law requires the development of "a municipal opt-in specialized stretch energy code that includes, but is not limited to, net-zero building performance standards and a definition of a net-zero building."
Join NAIOP and the Commonwealth's Undersecretary of Energy, Judy Chang, for an overview of this groundbreaking legislation and how it will be implemented. Then, a panel of industry experts who are designing and building some of the most energy-efficient buildings in the nation will discuss what works, what doesn't, and what still needs to be done to help commercial real estate reach the Commonwealth's goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.
